Armoured Vehicle Breakdown Leads to Death of Brig-Gen Braimoh in Boko Haram Attack
Late Brigadier-General O.O. Braimoh died during a deadly Boko Haram assault on a military base in Borno State. Military sources told SaharaReporters that he tried to escape in a bulletproof armoured vehicle. When the vehicle failed to start, he was captured and killed by the insurgents. Sources allege widespread negligence and corruption among senior officers. They claim funds for vehicle maintenance and fuel are often diverted or ignored, leaving troops stranded when they need support most. The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram carried out the attack in Kaga Local Government Area. Several soldiers were killed and others went missing, underscoring the ongoing security challenges in the North-East.
