Motorists Demand Quick Completion of Kabba–Omuo–Ekiti Road to End Gridlocks

Motorists on the Kabba–Omuo–Ekiti route have raised alarm over the slow progress of road repairs. They say daily gridlocks damage vehicles and waste man-hours. Patronage has fallen sharply as commuters choose alternate routes. Transport unions and drivers appealed to the Federal Government to urge the contractor to accelerate work. They warn that the corridor is vital for trade between Kogi and Ekiti states. The Federal Controller of Works said the project was re-awarded last year at N25 billion and covers 104 kilometres. Initial work focused on the Ifaki–Omuo section, but full mobilisation awaits release of funds.

Has anyone noticed how much time is wasted sitting in traffic on that road each day? What alternatives are motorists finding?
