Nigerian Army Urges Command Day School Akure Graduates to Uphold Discipline and Excellence
The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to defending Nigeria’s sovereignty and maintaining peace, as Command Day Secondary School, Akure, held its 14th valedictory service for the Class of 2026. Representing the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Col. Anthony Ochigbo told the graduating students that the sacrifices of officers and soldiers are aimed at building a safe and prosperous country. He urged them to uphold discipline, integrity, loyalty and excellence as they pursue their future goals. The school commandant praised the students, teachers and staff for their resilience and commitment. A FUTA cybersecurity lecturer also encouraged the graduates to see education as a tool for solving real-life problems, not only as a route to paid employment. The ceremony included academic awards for outstanding students from JSS1 to JSS3 and SS1 to SS2.
