Shettima: I Was Falsely Accused of Plotting to Kill Tinubu Early in Our Term
Vice-President Kashim Shettima said that three months after their inauguration, unnamed individuals from Borno State told President Bola Tinubu that Shettima was plotting to kill him and seize power. Tinubu called Shettima, raised concerns about his campaign clothes, but rejected the allegation, pointing out he had worn them as a presidential aspirant. Shettima made the remarks at the launch of former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon’s autobiography. He noted that despite the rumours, Tinubu continued to wear the same attire, showing he did not believe in superstitions. He urged Nigerians to remain united as brothers and sisters, rather than merchants of division.
