U.S. Says It Hit IRGC Sites in Iran After Alleged Missile Attack
U.S. Central Command says it carried out a major wave of strikes on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets in Iran on July 29. The targets reportedly included command centres, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance sites and maritime assets. CENTCOM said the operation followed an alleged attempted Iranian ballistic-missile attack on U.S. forces in the Middle East a day earlier. According to the command, all missiles launched in the alleged July 28 attack were intercepted. The U.S. says the strikes were intended to reduce threats to its personnel, commercial shipping and Gulf countries.
