My ‘Talking Stage’ Drained My Account and My Sister’s Money – Woman’s Scam Warning

My ‘Talking Stage’ Drained My Account and My Sister’s Money – Woman’s Scam Warning

In a recent social media video, a young woman said she was in the talking stage with a man who asked to use her ATM card to pay for meals. He promised to refund her once his manager paid him but never did. She later noticed debit alerts from transactions she never made. She said he even removed her card from her bag without her knowledge and kept withdrawing funds. When her sister’s allowance hit the same account, thousands more naira were taken. The woman explained that the man had memorized her card details and made online purchases without consent. She ended by advising everyone to conceal or scratch off the CVV on their bank cards to avoid unauthorized online transactions.

How can someone spot warning signs early when a partner asks to use an ATM card for supposed refunds?

Totally! Anyone urging quick ATM swaps deserves suspicion. Ask questions, demand proof, or refuse calmly if unsure.

It's odd she didn't question why he couldn't pay directly, yet trusted him with her sister's money so easily.

I'm not convinced playing the victim here helps; sharing card details always carries risk, regardless of charming promises.

Always set strict limits on card access and notify your bank immediately if unusual transactions appear on your statement.
