Tinubu Swears In New Ministers of Power and Foreign Affairs
President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The ceremony on Monday followed the resignation of ministers pursuing party primaries ahead of the APC’s May 2026 elections. Both nominees were screened and confirmed by the Senate shortly after their May 5 nominations. Enikanolaiye brings 35 years in Nigeria’s foreign service, with postings in Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London and New Delhi. Tegbe holds a First Class Civil Engineering degree and advanced business and public administration qualifications, with a career spanning KPMG Africa, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and other major firms. This marks the second induction into the Federal Executive Council since directives for ministerial resignations ahead of party primaries, and the latest in a series of strategic cabinet changes by the president.
