IGP Disu, National Defence College Discuss State Policing and Police Reform
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, received a delegation from the National Defence College at Force Headquarters in Abuja on 29 July 2026. Their discussions focused on police reform, state policing, command coordination and emerging internal-security concerns. The delegation presented a research paper prepared by police officers participating in the College’s programme. The Commandant said the study offers practical and implementable options for improving policing and responding to security challenges towards 2035. Disu described the research as timely, saying its analysis of public concerns, comparative examples and recommendations could help shape a framework for state policing. He also reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to stronger collaboration with the National Defence College and other security partners.
