US Lawmaker Urges Trump to Intervene After Mass Burial Attack in Plateau
A US congressman has called on the Trump administration to take “forceful action” to protect Christians in Nigeria. The attack had not been officially confirmed by Nigerian police at the time of the statement. The lawmaker contrasted Nigeria’s swift military response to a 2025 coup attempt in Benin Republic with what he called the government’s failure to stop killings in its own territory. He urged the US to defend Christians in the Middle Belt, describing the ongoing violence as “Christian genocide.”
