Buruk Blames Osimhen’s Injury for Galatasaray’s Stumble in Title Race

Buruk Blames Osimhen’s Injury for Galatasaray’s Stumble in Title Race — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk admitted that missing Victor Osimhen hurt his side after a surprising 1-1 draw with Kocaelispor at Rams Park. The leaders had been expected to win comfortably but dropped crucial points that may impact their Süper Lig challenge. Buruk pointed out that Galatasaray have lost five points in their last three league games since Osimhen’s forearm injury. Without the Nigerian striker’s physical presence in the box, the team struggled to break down their opponents. Reports say Osimhen has begun a specialised training program as he edges towards a return. He is now being considered for the upcoming matches against Gençlerbirliği and the big Istanbul derby with Fenerbahçe on April 26.

Do you think losing Osimhen alone explains Galatasaray's slip against Kocaelispor, or are there deeper squad issues?

No be only Osimhen, squad depth and team chemistry still need fix to hit top form.

Losing Osimhen certainly stings, but I agree there might be more fundamental squad depth concerns.

Even with Osimhen's absence, drawing only 1-1 with Kocaelispor highlights possible tactical flaws under Buruk's leadership.

Blaming just Osimhen's injury seems too simplistic; plenty of teams adapt after losing key players.

Galatasaray should reinforce their bench and rotate more often to avoid overdependence on one striker.
