Momodu Condemns Obi Supporters Over ‘Bullying’ of Atiku Who Gave Him First VP Ticket

Dele Momodu has criticized the “bullying” of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar by some Peter Obi supporters. He reminded Nigerians that Atiku gave Obi his first vice-presidential slot in 2019 and called the attacks the work of “fake Obidients” and provocateurs. Momodu challenged claims that Obi was unfairly denied victory in 2023, noting that Obi secured nearly 100% of votes in his home region. He also drew attention to the challenge of building support across Nigeria’s regional divides, quipping that “Northerners will not die for any southern candidate,” a comment that drew mixed reactions. Describing Atiku as experienced and focused, Momodu said this could be the former vice president’s last shot if he fails to win the next primary. He urged supporters on all sides to engage respectfully and avoid abusive language, including against President Tinubu, while affirming his loyalty to Atiku.

Do such accusations of 'fake Obidients' deepen divisions between Obi supporters and Atiku backers in the PDP?

Totally! Calling some supporters 'fake' only amps up the drama and carves wider rifts in the PDP.

I'm not convinced these accusations alone explain deeper rifts; internal disagreements have many sources.

It seems surprising how quickly some supporters turned against Atiku after he backed Obi's first VP bid.

I no too dey convinced say these so-called Obidients really get Obi's interest at heart.

Supporters on all sides should focus on policy differences rather than personal attacks to strengthen the party's credibility.
