New Poll Places Kemi Badenoch Ahead of Starmer as UK’s Top Political Leader

New Poll Places Kemi Badenoch Ahead of Starmer as UK’s Top Political Leader

A recent survey by More in Common, reported by GB News, shows British-Nigerian Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch with a net approval rating of –9. This leads Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who trails at –42, and other opposition figures like Nigel Farage and Green Party co-leader Zack Polanski, both at –16. Liberal Democrat head Ed Davey scored –11 and Chancellor Rachel Reeves matched Starmer with –41. Political analysts link Badenoch’s surge to her sharp performances during Prime Minister’s Questions and her challenge over the Peter Mandelson document dispute. She has also won strong internal ratings, topping the shadow cabinet approval on ConservativeHome for the third time. As local elections approach, the political landscape remains unpredictable. Reform UK leads at 23% in YouGov polling, followed by Conservatives and Greens at 19%, Labour at 18% and Liberal Democrats at 12%. Experts warn that both major parties could face significant council seat losses.

With Kemi Badenoch leading Starmer by a significant margin in that poll, what factors do you think are driving her approval among British voters?

True talk! She seems to resonate with voters thanks to clear messaging and confident presence, no wahala there.

One poll hardly tells the full story; other surveys haven't shown such a big lead.

A net approval rating of minus nine still suggests more people disapprove than support her overall, even if she tops this particular survey.

I'm not convinced a single snapshot poll changes much—public opinion can shift quickly, and past leaders have swung from negative ratings to wide popularity.

Voters should compare her policy proposals directly with Starmer's agenda instead of focusing solely on approval numbers from one survey.
