Wike Urges Patience Until INEC Releases Rivers APC Candidate List
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has asked political stakeholders in Rivers State to hold off making conclusions until the Independent National Electoral Commission publishes its official list of candidates in July. His remarks follow a Rivers State court ruling that recognised Emeka Beke as APC leader and nullified recent primary results. The decision affected governorship aspirant Kingsley Chinda and several other APC nominees linked to the minister. Wike dismissed speculation over these judgments and insisted the true picture will emerge only when INEC confirms its list. He said everyone should wait for the commission’s July publication before drawing any conclusions. He also commented on teachers’ protests over recent schoolchildren abductions in Oyo State. Wike urged that insecurity be addressed collectively and warned against turning these incidents into partisan issues.
