Troops Arrest ‘Calamity’: Alleged IPOB/ESN Commander Behind Police Killings and AK-47 Theft
Nigerian Army troops from Operation UDO KA have arrested an alleged IPOB/ESN kingpin known as “Calamity” and four of his accomplices for the killing of a police officer, the injury of another, and the theft of two AK-47 rifles during an attack in Okuku-Igbo community, Oshimili North LGA, Delta State on 26 February 2026. Acting on credible intelligence, soldiers raided a hideout in Nwofe, Izzi LGA, Ebonyi State, where “Calamity” had fled. They seized a black handbag containing five mobile phones, numerous keys, and a motorcycle used by the gang. The suspects are now in military custody as investigations continue to dismantle their network and recover additional weapons. The Army calls on residents to support security agencies with timely information to help restore peace and safety.
