Top PDP Trustees Sue INEC to Recognise Turaki’s Interim NWC

Top PDP Trustees Sue INEC to Recognise Turaki’s Interim NWC

Sen. Adolphus Wabara-led PDP Board of Trustees has filed suit against INEC, demanding official recognition of the Tanimu Turaki-led interim National Working Committee. The originating summons, filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, lists former Senate President Wabara, Gov. Babangida Aliyu, Prof. Jerry Gana, Olabode George and four others as plaintiffs. They want INEC to update its records with the committee names and assigned portfolios communicated on May 4 and May 15. The plaintiffs cite a series of Federal High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court rulings that nullified a rival caretaker committee and upheld suspensions of senior party officers. They argue INEC’s refusal to enforce these judgments violates the rule of law and seek a court order compelling full compliance.

But is dragging INEC into party disputes really the best move for PDP's public image right now?

PDP should pursue parallel negotiation within its structures while the court case moves forward to avoid prolonged internal crisis.
