Tobi Amusan Blames Knee Injury After Commonwealth Games 100m Hurdles Bronze
Tobi Amusan says a knee injury affected her bid to win a third straight women’s 100m hurdles title at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Nigerian athlete finished third in Thursday’s final with a time of 12.60 seconds. Devynne Charlton of The Bahamas won gold in 12.33 seconds, while Jamaica’s Megan Simmonds took silver in 12.41 seconds. Amusan said she suffered a bad fall during training camp and had been unsure about the condition of her knee going into the race. She also cited Glasgow’s cold weather and said she would focus on treatment before deciding on the rest of her season. Despite the setback, Amusan won her heat in a wind-assisted 12.19 seconds, the fastest time recorded at the Commonwealth Games under any conditions.
