Indonesian Man Kills Neighbour for Teasing Him About Being Single at 45

A 45-year-old man in North Sumatra allegedly attacked and killed his 60-year-old neighbour after growing frustrated by repeated questions about why he had never married. Police say the incident occurred on July 29 in South Tapanuli. The victim, a retired civil servant, was reportedly struck on the head with a piece of wood and beaten further in the street. Bystanders intervened and rushed him to hospital, but he died before arriving. During questioning, the suspect admitted he felt insulted by the neighbour’s teasing about his marital status. Earlier disputes included arguments over free-roaming chickens crossing into each other’s yards. Authorities are investigating the case further.
