NDLEA Partners with FUNAAB to Promote Artemisia Farming as an Alternative Livelihood

NDLEA Partners with FUNAAB to Promote Artemisia Farming as an Alternative Livelihood

Abeokuta – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has stepped up its Alternative Development Drive with a visit to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and an on-site assessment of an Artemisia annua farm in Ibafo, Ogun State. The delegation, led by Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa’s office, aims to transition illicit crop farmers into legal, high-value agricultural ventures. The programme will channel youth into structured farming, scale university research into community projects, and strengthen local food systems. FUNAAB’s Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university’s vast arable land and urged the inclusion of vocational skills training in rehabilitation centres. The collaboration reflects NDLEA’s commitment to sustainable livelihoods, youth empowerment, and national development priorities.
