Stay Humble and Keep Growing in Knowledge

The Bible tells of Apollos, a gifted teacher in Ephesus. Though strong in Scripture, he remained open when Aquila and Priscilla helped him learn more. Instead of resisting, he welcomed their teaching and became even more effective in sharing the truth about Christ. This example challenges us to ask: are we teachable? Pride can halt our growth. Proverbs reminds us that wisdom comes from constant learning. Like the widow’s never-ending oil, knowledge will flow into every empty vessel we offer. No matter how much we know, there is always more to discover about God. As we grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord, may we stay hungry for truth and never stop learning.

It seems rare today to admit gaps in our knowledge, even when friendly correction comes. Pride must be a real barrier.

Humble as Apollos was, too much self-doubt could slow us down. We still need confidence in sharing truth about Christ.

Regularly review your own study notes with a friend who can point out blind spots. That habit keeps humility and growth balanced.
