Lightning Strike Kills One, Injures Three at Fort Myers Beach
On Friday around 3 p.m., a lightning bolt struck a group of swimmers at Fort Myers Beach in Florida. One man was killed instantly when the charge hit him directly as he swam in the Gulf. Three other beachgoers wading nearby were injured and taken to a local hospital. Officials say all three are now in stable condition. The incident was confirmed by the Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
