Champion Kehinde Obareh Urges Support for Female Boxing and Girl Child Education

Kehinde Joy Obareh, a multi-medal champion and sports advocate, called on government and private sector to invest in girl child education and women’s health. At the first Kehinde Obareh Female Boxing Show in Surulere, Lagos, she pledged to support 24 home-based boxers. She encouraged them to stay focused and resilient in both sport and school. Obareh, the first Nigerian woman to win All-Africa Games gold and African Female Boxing Championship gold, said strength, courage, faith and commitment are key to future success. The event saw gold medals for Gafar Fathia, Adepoju Roqueebat and others, silver for Lasisi Nurat, Adeshina Aishat and more, and exhibition prizes for two promising boxers.
