JAMB Exempts Education and Non-Engineering Agriculture Applicants from UTME
From the 2026/2027 admission cycle, candidates seeking to study education programmes and non-engineering agriculture courses will no longer need to sit the UTME. This policy was unveiled at JAMB’s annual admission meeting in Abuja. Applicants must still register with JAMB for documentation. They need at least four credit passes in relevant subjects. JAMB will screen and certify their academic credentials before issuing admission letters via CAPS. JAMB described this move as one of the broadest waivers in recent years. It aims to create alternative pathways into Colleges of Education and agriculture programmes without the conventional UTME route.
