Abia Youths Appeal to Governor Otti as Promised Agro Support Fails to Materialize
A group of Abia State youths from all 17 LGAs completed a three-week federal-state agricultural training in Osun State. They expected state backing to start production and commercialization projects on their return. The trainees say officials in the Abia Ministries of Agriculture and Youths & Sports assured them of funds but have gone silent since November. They submitted proposals and personal details as instructed, yet no support or feedback has followed. They feel abandoned despite earning certificates and gaining valuable skills. The group suspects that funds meant for them may have been diverted to others who did not attend the programme. The youths are now appealing directly to Governor Alex Otti, believing he is unaware of their plight. They urge him to intervene and fulfill the original promise of empowerment.
