When Naija Men Get Desperate for Love
I’ve noticed many Nigerian men who missed out on attention in their youth grow into vulnerable adults craving love. They become easy targets for partners who take advantage of their need for affection. One friend of mine hustled from the streets to a comfortable life. He had his own place, furniture and even a generator. Yet he was unhappy because he had no girlfriend. He begged me to introduce him to every girl who visited my place. I’m different. I find my energy and peace from within, not from another person. I’ve lived alone without feeling lonely, and I believe a partner could disrupt my flow. Today, a man acted irrationally for his girlfriend and cost me money. I’ve decided to cut off any deals with people who put a relationship above everything else. Naija men, please decenter women and stop sacrificing yourself to please a partner.
