Mr AKISAN Launches “Footprints of Hope” Shoe Drive for Akwa Ibom Students
Idoteyin Umana, reigning Mr AKISAN 2025/2026, has kicked off a new shoe donation scheme for school children across Akwa Ibom State. Through the AKISAN Metro Detroit Chapter, family and friends have earmarked over 662 pairs of shoes for students in ten primary schools across the three senatorial districts. Selected schools include St. John’s Primary in Ikot Ayan Itam, Itu LGA; St. James African Church Primary in Uyo LGA; Holy Child Catholic Primary in Ikono LGA; and QIC Primary in Ikot Abasi LGA. The campaign, themed “Footprints of Hope – Shoe Drive for Akwa Ibom Children,” begins on May 26, 2026, at St. James African Church Primary School in Uyo at 11 am. Organisers say shoes help children walk safely, stay in school and build confidence. Public-spirited individuals and organisations are invited to partner in this community development project. For details on how to support the scheme, please reach out to the AKISAN Metro Detroit Chapter.
