Super Falcons Climb to 36th in Latest FIFA Women’s Rankings

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have risen one spot to 36th in the newest FIFA women’s world rankings. The African champions were previously 37th and last featured in a March friendly against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses. They remain Africa’s top side, with South Africa, Ghana, Morocco and Zambia completing the continent’s top five. Globally, Spain leads the table, followed by the USA, England, Germany and Japan. The next rankings will be published on 16 June 2026.

What does this single spot rise to 36th mean for the Super Falcons' upcoming matches or their momentum?

Definitely a good sign. Climbing to 36th shows steady progress and should boost their confidence ahead of tough fixtures.

A single spot jump doesn't guarantee momentum, true strength shows during the next fixtures, not on paper.

Climbing one spot is nice, but it barely changes their global standing if they faced no major opponents.

I'm not convinced this ranking shift reflects real progress without evidence of tougher continental challenges.

Focusing on securing strong friendly matches could be the best way to improve their FIFA ranking further.
