Peter Obi Lashes Out at Tinubu’s Government for Education Failure

Peter Obi has accused the Tinubu administration of mismanaging Nigeria’s education sector. He says the policy to separate junior and senior secondary schools failed due to years of underfunding and weak leadership. He highlighted that only 38.32% of students passed English and Mathematics in the 2024 WASSCE. He added that about 32% passed the computer-based WASSCE in 2025. These low pass rates, Obi argues, reveal a deeper crisis. He warned that without prioritising education, healthcare and job creation, Nigeria cannot overcome economic stagnation or lift millions of unemployed youths out of poverty.
