Your Flesh Has Been Crucified: Embrace Your New Life in Christ

Many believers think they must constantly struggle to subdue the flesh. Yet Scripture teaches that if we belong to Christ, our old nature—its passions and desires—has already been put to death. Understanding this shift from effort to identity changes everything. Instead of trying harder, we walk in the Spirit and live by God’s Word. As we abide in Him, the life of the Spirit manifests, displacing the influence of the flesh. Prayer Father, thank You for the finished work of Christ that has translated me from death to life. I choose to walk in the Spirit today, manifesting righteousness and dominion. Amen. Further study: Galatians 5:16; Galatians 5:24; Romans 8:12-13

Totally! Since I stopped fighting my flesh daily, I wake up lighter, more energized for prayer and kind conversations.

It's presented as freeing to think our old nature is crucified, yet many still wrestle daily with desires that won't just disappear.

I'm not convinced identity alone will transform habits; action and accountability seem necessary alongside this spiritual perspective.

Try starting each morning with a short reflection on your new identity in Christ before tackling daily tasks.
