Trump Praises IOC Ban on Transgender Women in Women’s Sports

Trump Praises IOC Ban on Transgender Women in Women’s Sports

On Thursday, the International Olympic Committee announced it will bar transgender women from competing in women’s events to protect fairness, safety and integrity in female categories. Late that evening, former President Donald Trump took to his social platform to applaud the move. He credited his own executive order and said it stands up for women and girls. I view this decision as a win for sports, biology, morality and justice. Coming shortly after the Premier League’s ban on a major LGBTQ+ campaign, it marks another setback for what I call the ‘woke agenda’ in sport.

It's interesting how the IOC frames fairness and safety while overlooking individual rights and broader inclusion debates.

I'm not convinced the ban will solve any real issues; it may just sideline athletes who have already met eligibility standards.

Sports bodies should develop clear, evidence-based guidelines to ensure fairness without excluding athletes based on gender identity alone.
