Man Plants Bomb in Car to Kill Ex and Himself, Woman Escapes as Vehicle Explodes
A bitter breakup in Karnataka ended in tragedy on a busy highway when a man allegedly planted an explosive device in a car to kill himself and his ex-girlfriend. The incident unfolded near Jogihalli on National Highway-48 after the woman, an OT technician in Bengaluru, leapt from the moving vehicle moments before it erupted in flames. The blast killed the 30-year-old driver of the explosive-laden car on the spot and injured the woman and the taxi driver. Police say the suspect had forcibly abducted his former partner from her Bengaluru home following an argument. Investigators recovered bomb-like material from the wreckage and are probing how and where the device was obtained.
