The appellate court held that the earlier judgment was a nullity, citing a subsisting court order and the respondents’ lack of standing. Atiku said the decision clears the way for the Senator David Mark-led ADC leadership to focus on preparations for 2027. He also warned against using the judiciary or state institutions to eliminate political opponents, arguing that free political competition is essential to democracy.
