Fear of Armed Herders Forces Early Closure of Ogbogbo Baptist Grammar School
Residents of Ogbogbo community in Ijebu North East, Ogun State, were gripped by fear after unidentified men—suspected to be armed herders—were spotted near F.A. Farm and Oluwapelumi Estate. The sighting on Sunday evening led to growing anxiety among parents and students. On Monday morning, students saw figures lurking in the bush behind the school gate. Panic spread through the compound, prompting an evacuation as parents arrived to carry their children away. Some even came armed with cutlasses to protect their community. By midday, only a handful of teachers and the principal remained on campus. Officers from the Ogun State Police Command and soldiers from the Army Sappers Barracks combed nearby bushes. By the time normalcy returned, security patrols continued to reassure residents.
