Zubimendi Becomes Tenth Arsenal Star Forced Out of International Duty

Martín Zubimendi has withdrawn from Spain’s squad ahead of their friendly with Egypt due to right knee discomfort, according to reports. He follows nine teammates returning early from international camps this window. Piero Hincapié left Ecuador’s squad after featuring against Morocco, while Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka remain under assessment following a 1-1 draw with Uruguay. Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze have also been sidelined by knee and calf issues. William Saliba, Gabriel, Leandro Trossard and Jurriën Timber continue treatment at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s side now turns its focus to an FA Cup quarter-final at Southampton on April 4 before heading to Lisbon for the Champions League first leg on April 7.
