1 / 7

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara made his first appearance before the reconciled House under Speaker Martin Amaewhule to present the ₦1.854 trillion 2026 Appropriation Bill. Tagged “Budget of Resilience for Growth and Development,” the proposal targets 24.5% revenue growth driven by higher FAAC allocations, derivation funds and internally generated revenue. Recurrent spending is set at ₦413.1 billion, while ₦1.405 trillion goes to capital projects, including infrastructure, education and healthcare. The plan also promises a 50% rise in agency overheads and the clearing of outstanding gratuities for retired civil servants. The governor urged lawmakers to approve this people-centred blueprint to attract investment, create jobs and improve living standards across Rivers State.
