Man Utd Edge Brentford 2-1 as Champions League Return Nears

Manchester United moved within two points of a top-four finish after a 2-1 win over Brentford at Old Trafford. Casemiro broke the deadlock with a trademark header before Benjamin Sesko doubled the lead before half-time. Brentford’s Mathias Jensen pulled one back with a spectacular long-range strike in the 87th minute, but it proved too late. The victory puts Michael Carrick’s side 11 points clear of sixth-placed Brighton, edging them ever closer to a Champions League spot. Brentford remain ninth and two points behind Brighton as they fight for a place in next season’s Europa League.

Even with Sesko and Casemiro delivering goals, United's defense still looks vulnerable whenever Brentford finds any space.
