Lagos Taskforce Seizes 70 Motorcycles Along Mile-2 to Badagry Expressway

Lagos Taskforce Seizes 70 Motorcycles Along Mile-2 to Badagry Expressway

Men of the Lagos State Taskforce raided the Iyana-Iba axis and other points along the Lagos-Mile2-Badagry Expressway. They impounded 70 commercial motorcycles for plying restricted routes, obstructing traffic and allegedly carrying illicit drugs and flammable substances to neighbouring areas. The agency says all confiscated bikes will be forfeited to the state via the courts under the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018.

How do you think impounding these 70 motorcycles will affect traffic and safety along the Mile-2 to Badagry route?

I agree, clearing so many bikes fit calm traffic small and make passengers feel safer for that busy stretch.

Seizing bikes might just push riders to riskier routes, no real safety boost.

It's odd that the taskforce seized so many bikes but no mention of arrests or prosecutions followed the raid.

This feels like a revenue move rather than a genuine security measure if they didn't target actual drug traffickers.

Perhaps clear route guidelines and regular patrols will prevent future obstructions without blanket motorcycle impoundments.
