ADR Alleges Presidency Pressuring Supreme Court to Sideline ADC

The Alliance for Democratic Rights claims President Tinubu, via the Attorney General, is exerting undue pressure on Supreme Court justices in the ADC leadership dispute. The group says the EFCC is being used to intimidate justices and dredge up past allegations against them. The statement adds that northern APC governors were told the presidency wants to bar ADC from the 2027 ballot. It also accuses the Chief of Staff of directing that the party be “scattered” and alleges the government denied ADC access to public venues during its convention. Legal experts and the NBA have condemned what they call political meddling in judicial affairs. The court has reserved judgment on the case.
