Feasibility Completed for 13 Major Nigerian Railway Lines
Feasibility studies are done for 13 new rail corridors across Nigeria. They range from coastal routes like Lagos–Calabar and Benin City–Warri–Calabar to northern links such as Kano–Dayi–Katsina–Jibiya and Sokoto–Ilela. Key routes include the high-speed Lagos–Ibadan–Osogbo–Baro–Abuja line and the Benin–Onitsha–Enugu corridor. Other proposals cover Lagos–Shagamu–Ijebu Ode, Port Harcourt–Maiduguri, and more. Funding remains a challenge. Two options are on the table: 1. Secure loans with prudent financial planning. 2. Invite Nigerians abroad to join a public-private partnership and invest in these projects.
