Probe Intensifies After Mary Habila Found Dead and Unclothed at Minister’s Quarters

Probe Intensifies After Mary Habila Found Dead and Unclothed at Minister’s Quarters — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Mary Habila, a physiotherapist, was discovered dead and without clothing inside the official residence of Works Minister David Umahi in Uburu, Ebonyi State. The minister confirmed her death and said she was seconded from the university teaching hospital. Police sources, however, dispute that account. Investigators say Habila and a colleague arrived from Kaduna on June 26 to attend to the minister. Habila was found unresponsive the following morning. A police aide linked to the minister reportedly brought the women and alerted medical personnel. Public calls for a transparent inquiry are growing as the circumstances remain unclear.

It's odd that such a high-profile residence had no clear security protocol to protect a staff member working there.

We shouldn't jump to conclusions about the minister's involvement before forensic findings come out.

Authorities should release a full timeline of Mary's arrival, movements in the minister's quarters, and official staff logs.
