Lekki I-Fitness Gym Sealed for Illegal Sewage Discharge

The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office has sealed I-Fitness Gym at Jakande Roundabout in Lekki Peninsula for discharging untreated sewage into public drains. Officials say the raw waste polluted drainage channels and posed serious health risks to residents. The action was taken on June 23, 2026, after the gym was found channeling raw sewage into public drainage systems. The state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Barrister Tokunbo Wahab, emphasized that the government will enforce wastewater laws and prosecute offenders. Residents and business owners have been urged to follow approved wastewater practices to safeguard public health and protect the environment.
