1 / 4

A woman was arrested at Divine Mercy Hospital, Awada, Onitsha after entering the maternity ward in a nurse’s uniform. Staff grew suspicious when she approached mothers and asked about their babies. In a video circulated by hospital workers, a doctor challenges her on her presence. She fails to explain her mission and is branded a “child thief” by onlookers. A new mum recalls the woman claiming to be a newly employed nurse, only for the suspect to be overheard asking someone on the phone, “Do you want a boy or a girl?” Anambra State Police PRO confirmed the arrest and said the suspect is now in custody. Investigation continues.

It seems odd that someone could enter a maternity ward in uniform without immediate checks on her identity.
