Many wonder if the world will end soon. The Bible speaks of an end to the current age and a future renewed earth ruled by Christ. Jesus described clear signs for the end times, including deception, wars, pestilences, earthquakes, lawlessness and moral decay (Matthew 24; Luke 17–21). When these things begin to happen, we are told to look up, for our redemption draws near. Though scoffers claim all goes on as usual, the world that once perished by water awaits judgment by fire and a new heavens and earth where righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:3–13).
