Blankson Bids Farewell to Rivers Angels, Eyes Fresh Challenge
Rivers Angels head coach Tosan Blankson has ended his two-season spell with the Port Harcourt side, citing fond memories and gratitude for the club’s supporters. During his tenure, the team lifted two Rivers State Women’s FA Cups, claimed the 2025 President Federation Cup and secured two Super 6 qualifications. The 56-year-old former left-back, who guided Delta Queens to the NWFL title in 2023, said it was time to close one chapter and pursue new opportunities. He thanked the club’s staff, players and fans, wishing his successor every success. Blankson confirmed there are informal talks with other clubs, including Edo Queens, but stressed that nothing is set in stone as he takes a break before the 2026/27 season.
