Man Sentenced to 3½ Years for Secretly Hiding Cameras in Women’s Homes and Offices

Man Sentenced to 3½ Years for Secretly Hiding Cameras in Women’s Homes and Offices

A man in England was sentenced for secretly installing hidden cameras in the homes and workplaces of six women over a ten-year period. Police began investigating in May 2024 after one victim discovered a concealed device in her bedroom. Officers seized pens, USB sticks, power sockets and even a shower gel bottle that concealed cameras. Analysis uncovered hundreds of images and videos recorded between 2015 and 2025. The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to six counts of voyeurism in March. In April, he received a three-year, six-month prison term. A destruction order was issued for all devices, a ten-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed, and he will remain on the sexual offences register for life.

How did those hidden cameras go undetected for ten years, and what signs should people watch for in their own homes?

Do we know how he powered those hidden cameras for so long without anyone noticing?

It's surprising the police only found this after a device showed up in a bedroom; seems like more thorough checks are needed.

I'm not convinced a 3½-year sentence sends a strong enough warning to deter similar crimes in the future, frankly.
