Leganes Chief Backs Yan Diomande to Succeed at Real Madrid
Leganes general manager Martin Ortega believes Yan Diomande has the mentality and ability to succeed at Real Madrid if the Spanish giants complete a reported move for the 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger. Diomande joined Leipzig from Leganes in July 2025 after the German club activated his €20 million release clause. Reports suggest Real Madrid could pay more than €100 million following his impressive season in Germany. Ortega said Diomande showed his quality early at Leganes and was unfazed when he made his La Liga debut against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu aged 18. He compared the teenager's dribbling to Lamine Yamal's and praised his ability with both feet, drawing comparisons with Ousmane Dembele.
