Nollywood actor Alesh Sanni has spoken out against critics of his colleague Baba Ijesha and designer Luminee. He reacted after Luminee announced the birth of her son with the controversial actor, calling out the irony of “sinners judging sinners differently.” On Instagram, he wrote: “Do what makes you happy; life is too short. YOLO. Hello, Dubai.” Other industry figures have joined the debate. Mercy Johnson highlighted God’s mercy and second chances, while Regina Chukwu asked if Baba Ijesha deserves lifelong condemnation. Businessman Wale Jana noted that despite his registered sex offender status, Baba Ijesha has found a new beginning with a successful partner and a child. Recall that in 2021, Baba Ijesha was convicted for defiling a 14-year-old and sentenced to five years in prison. He was released in November 2025 and maintains his innocence.

It's interesting how Alesh points out 'sinners judging sinners differently,' yet this issue stirred such strong online reactions already.
