Ekiti Election: Let the People Vote, Not Fight
As Ekiti State heads to the polls on 20 June, every stakeholder must ensure the election is free, fair and peaceful. A credible vote reflects the true will of the people and strengthens our democracy. Political parties, security agencies and the electoral commission must act impartially. Any attempt at rigging, vote buying or intimidation undermines trust and robs citizens of their rights. Voters should refuse inducements and cast their ballots according to conscience. Young people and civil society must resist violence and monitor the process. Democracy thrives when outcomes are decided at the ballot box, not by force. Ekiti deserves an election that upholds fairness, transparency and the rule of law.
