Armed Robbers Raid ATBU Female Hostel, Steal Phones and Valuables

Suspected armed robbers reportedly invaded the female hostel at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University’s Gubi Campus in Bauchi in the early hours of Monday. The attackers allegedly entered the premises at about 2:00 a.m., moved from room to room and threatened students before taking phones and other valuables. More than 10 rooms were reportedly affected. Students said the suspects may have gained entry by cutting through the perimeter fence and using a ladder. The incident has renewed calls for stronger campus security and faster emergency response. The university says the Vice-Chancellor has visited the affected hostel and promised additional security measures. Police in Bauchi have also opened an investigation and said efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest the suspects.
