Nigeria Youths in Politics Unveils Strategic Mandate for 2027 Elections
Nigeria Youths in Politics has strengthened its framework with a clear mandate for its National Working Committee (NWC) for the 2026/2027 electoral cycle. The goal is to promote disciplined, accountable, and impact-driven youth engagement ahead of the 2027 polls. The mandate sets a defined tenure for the NWC through August 2027. Committee members will submit regular activity reports to ensure transparency and performance in line with the organisation’s constitution. The strategy rests on five pillars: electoral governance and ethical political engagement; stakeholder collaboration for nation building; deployment of 300,000 electoral guards for polling unit oversight; security partnerships for peaceful elections; and youth mobilisation for political inclusion. The NWC’s leadership team includes zonal and national officers across key directorates such as Electoral Affairs, Stakeholder Engagement, and Campus Affairs. Members will be inaugurated at the Democracy Day Conference on 10 June in Abuja under the theme “The Time Is Now: Youth Building a Sustainable Democracy.”
