Armed Bandits Kill Vice Principal and Two Others in Iluke Bunu Attack as Army Thwarts Mass Abduction
Armed bandits stormed Iluke Bunu in Kabba-Bunu LGA of Kogi State on the morning of June 10, 2026. They targeted students sitting for their WAEC exams at UBE Iluke Bunu. During the raid, the vice principal of Government Secondary School Aharha-Bunu and two others were killed. Troops of the Nigerian Army stationed at nearby Suku-Kiri Bunu responded swiftly. They intercepted the attackers, neutralising one bandit and preventing a possible mass abduction of students and staff. Some residents remain unaccounted for after the attack. The local government has confirmed the incident, and security agencies continue investigations into the invasion.
